It looks like Sam Armytage could be heading back to early mornings.
The former Sunrise host has been approached by radio giant ARN Media about a potential new gig.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, execs at ARN have been ringing around some of Australia’s biggest names as it scrambles to rebuild its programming lineup after the explosive Kyle and Jackie O Show fallout.
And Sam is firmly on the list of new talent who could take over.
Sources say no formal talks have happened just yet, but the approach alone is a big deal.
Since leaving Sunrise, Sam has hosted Nine’s The Golden Bachelor and slipped behind the Today desk over the Christmas break, filling in alongside Michael “Wippa” Wipfli while Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo took a break.
The news comes as ARN finds itself in a very expensive mess.
This week, Jackie O launched a lawsuit against the network, joining ex-co-host Kyle Sandilands, who filed his own $100 million claim back in March.
Jackie, 51, is allegedly claiming at least $82.25 million in compensation and claims that her dismissal was against the Fair Work Act.
Kyle and Jackie’s contracts were both terminated after their on-air falling out, and Kyle has already launched legal action against ARN, appearing in the Federal Court on March 27.
