KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands has spoken out Karl Stefanovic against the possibility of the former Today show host joining 2day FM, saying that anyone who joins the opposition radio station is automatically ‘dead’ to him.

It’s no secret that Kyle has a testy relationship with 2day FM (the radio station that housed both him and co-host Jackie O Henderson when they hosted the Kyle and Jackie O show between 2005 and 2013).
Appearing on HIT 105’s Stav, Abby and Matt this morning, the radio host issued a threat to anyone who chooses to work for the rival company.
Rumours that Karl Stefanovic will host the 2day FM breakfast show have been circulating for some time, which prompted the hosts to ask Kyle how he thought Karl would do as a radio host.
“Well, he’s not going on the cursed station,” Kyle snarked in response.
“If he did go on to the opposition radio station, do you have to automatically hate him?” Matt asked.
“Yeah, they’re dead to me instantly,” Kyle replied and noted a similar thing had occurred when Sophie Monk joined 2day FM in 2013.
“This is what happened to Sophie. Sophie Monk went on that show and I didn’t speak to her for a year and a half,” the 48-year-old said.
“I thought you were still mates through all of that,” Matt said.
“Nup, didn’t speak to her,” Kyle responded.
“Did she try and reach out?” asked Matt.
“Yeah, I just ignored all her calls and said you’re dead to me. That’s it,” Kyle said nonchalantly.
“Then you called her when she got fired?” asked Abby.
“Yep and then said ‘welcome back, I told you not to do it.’” Kyle replied.
“Who else have you cut off in your lifetime?” Matt asked.
“Mel B, she got cut off for a while as well because she was on there as well,” Kyle admitted, before naming Grant Denyer in the bunch.
“And Grant. Grant Denyer, I cut him off and then I employed his cousin to find out all the dirt and then blackmailed him from behind the scenes as well,” he continued, noting that Grant’s breakfast show with Ed Kavalee and Ash London was a “huge failure.”
This isn’t the first time Kyle has offered his criticism of the 2day FM breakfast show.
When it was axed in August, he took to Twitter to laugh with glee at the news.
“Hahahahahaha” he wrote in one Tweet, followed by a second tweet that read:
“Another one bites the dust #seeya,” barely concealing his joy at the axing of Grant, Ash and Ed’s breakfast show.
“You can be mates with Grant again now that he’s not at the opposition station?” Matt asked.
“Yep,” Kyle said, before adding:
“I actually took offence to Grant being on there because he got me on that dumb *ss Celebrity Family Feud which was a disaster show I didn’t want to do but got conned into it in a moment of weakness.
“Went over, did the show and a week later he was announced to be on that show, so I said to him ‘you’re a dog rat and lose my number, you’re finished.’”
However, Kyle clarified that he has since made amends with the former radio-host and his remarks were only “half-serious.”
“I’m fine with Grant now. It’s all tongue in cheek but it’s half-serious,” he said.
