More heartbreak today for Grant Denyer, after his 2Day FM breakfast show with Ed Kavalee and Ash London was suddenly axed.

So quick was the axing, that the trio will be appearing together on radio for the last time tomorrow. This follows a week of drama in Grant’s TV career, which has been rocked by ongoing ill-health.
‘Ash London will continue to host Ash London Live nationally from 6.30pm weeknights,’ the Hit Network confirmed in a statement.
‘Ed Kavalee will continue to fill in for Kate Langbroek, who is enjoying the European summer with her young family, with Hughesy from 4.30pm. Grant Denyer will continue making appearances around the Network.’
So rapid was the decision to remove the show, that it will not be replaced by another team for the foreseeable future, with the station taking the extraordinary step of airing music only, rather than the usual FM staple of bantering hosts, from Monday.
‘2Day’s Music for Breakfast will be played by Jamie Angel, who returns to the 2Day airwaves,’ confirmed the station.
2Day FM has gone through six breakfast teams in six years since the departure of Kyle and Jackie O to KIIS FM.
After weeks of rumours about his health, Grant Denyer earlier this week confirmed that he won’t be hosting Celebrity Name Game until further notice – with Rove McManus stepping into his shoes.
The sad turn of events follows good times for Grant and wife Chezzi at the Logies, where things seemed to be on the up for the couple. The star says he is again suffering crippling back problems after a holiday visit to Bali ended in disaster for the trouble-plagued star.
‘Who knew an innocent family holiday in Bali would end with me flat on my back again?’ the TV favourite confirmed in a statement.
