Prince Andrew posted the following message on both Twitter and Instagram:
“Wishing Sarah Ferguson a very Happy 60th Birthday!”
On Instagram, the Duke of York shared three pictures of Fergie with her family, including her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and their respective partners, Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The second photo in the post showed the former Duchess of York with the children supported by Street Child UK (a charity that she is the patron of).
Fergie appears to be excited about her 60th birthday.
“I think it’s really important that my life is beginning at 60, I’m so excited by it,” she told Hello UK at an event for Street Child the previous day.
“I feel very strongly that every child has the right to dare to dream for an education,” the now 60-year-old told Hello UK at an event for Street Child the previous day.
Fergie – whose charity Children in Crisis, which she established in 1992, merged with Street Child last year – also opened up about feeling ‘lucky’ to have her daughters.
“I am the luckiest woman alive to have two extraordinary girls who work so hard in their charity work,” she said, before adding:
“Both the Duke and I stand very firmly on familyhood and we really believe in the integrity of goodness, and they are the best examples of that.”
