In dramatic scenes today, Sarah Ferguson has escaped to Spain for a holiday with Prince Andrew – a very public show of support as the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal reportedly leaves the panicked prince in a state of shock.
According to top selling UK newspaper The Sun, the Queen’s second son is ‘s****ing himself’ over the drama that has erupted since accused sex trafficker Epstein apparently killed himself in a New York prison cell. Escalating media coverage has placed new scrutiny on allegations Andrew had relations with a reputed ‘underaged sex slave’ supplied by Epstein – allegations the Prince strenuously denies.

Now Fergie has swooped in to offer her support by jetting to Malaga with her ex-husband – without their two daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
Royal insiders told The Sun that Andrew, 59, is right on the edge over the scrutiny, which could threaten the reputation of the monarchy. Now he is clutching at his ex for support.
‘The Duchess insisted she go on holiday with the Duke to look after him and show the world she stands by him,’ the source told the newspaper.
‘The Duke has been fairly relaxed up to now, he’s starting to s*** himself.
‘It’s become the biggest story in the world and he’s at the heart of the coverage.’
It emerged this week that the late financier kept a highly detailed diary about his interactions with his party-loving celebrity friends. The document will now be much sought after, amid growing interest in allegations Epstein trafficked under aged girls to wealthy and powerful men, including a list of politicians and celebrities.
According to a report in UK newspaper the Daily Express, sources close to Epstein have revealed he kept records of his partying with A-listers in ‘meticulous detail’, and among those friends was the Duke of York. The diary was allegedly kept as an ‘insurance policy’.
Sarah has been making an increasing show of her support for her husband over the past few months – ever since Epstein was arrested. She believes she can get her ex through the drama.
‘She feels this is like the old days when they would take on the world together,’ said The Sun’s source. ‘She knows she has to get him away from all the headlines.’
The pair were meant to be spending a week in Balmoral, but that plan ended in disaster when Andrew’s father, Prince Philip, arrived early. He has such an intense distaste for scandal-stained Fergie that the Duchess had to do a runner, say sources.
Fergie, who has recently been loving posting pictures of herself with her ex on Instagram, made a hasty retreat when the Duke arrived and was spotted catching a British Airways light from Aberdeen Airport.
Rules around Sarah’s attendance at Balmoral began to be relaxed about six years ago, and she has rarely been apart from Prince Andrew of recent months.
‘In previous years the duchess has left the day before the Queen’s husband arrives,’ an insider told the Daily Mail.
‘This year he arrived yesterday, several days earlier than expected, which is rather strange, so the duchess left.’
But the drama will not leave them behind. The Prince has once again vigorously denied claims by Virginia Roberts that they had sexual relations when she ‘leant out’ to Andrew as a 17-year-old by Epstein.
‘Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue,’ said the Prince in a statement.
‘It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.’
