The British-born star might best be remembered to film-goers as Commander Talbot in the 1977 Bond film, which starred Roger Moore, and as the evil boss in BMX Bandits, opposite Nicole Kidman. He also appeared in classic Aussie flick The Man From Snowy River.
After moving to Australia, he became a very familiar face on local dramas.
Agent and friend Esta Charkham tweeted of the London-born star: ‘So sad that my dear old chum Bryan Marshall has gone on ahead.
‘A wonderful actor – he was so good you never noticed how good he was. He was a valued chum. His credits are a catalogue of classic British and Australian TV.
‘Fare Forward Dearest Bryan.’
Starring in such British drama favourites as Heartbeat, The Bill and The Avengers, he also went on to host Australia’s Most Wanted, but is also fondly remembered by soap fans for his stints on our longest running local shows. As well as Australian soap Neighbours, where he played Gerard Singer, he appeared on Home & Away, Stingers, Water Rats, Prisoner and All Saints.
What a great acting career! Rest in peace, Bryan.
