Keeping up with current beauty standards is a full time hobby for many women and Married At First Sight‘s Jessika Power is no exception.
The blonde bombshell has been open about her penchant for cosmetic surgery and aesthetic enhancements, admitting to investing in dental veneers, expensive hair weaves and synthetic lip fillers which have rendered her almost unrecognisable from her former (natural) self.
But while the 26-year-old delights in flaunting her surgically modified visage in social media selfies, it seems it isn’t always plain sailing as she opened up about a bizarre side effect from her fillers.
The MAFS meltdown queen spoke to the Daily Telegraph’s Confidential about widespread online hate about the size of her enlarged lips, and revealed drinking alcohol causes them to swell even more than usual.
Jessika said she received numerous comments about her pout – cruelly branded the “Daffy Duck mouth” by internet trolls – and contacted her surgeon to get to the bottom of the increased plumpness.
“She said it’s normal for anyone with lip fillers – when you drink they swell,” she told the outlet.
Past participants of the Channel 9 social experiment have also been taunted for injecting fillers into their lips, with last year’s Tracey Jewel and Davina Rankin finding themselves at the mercy of public mockery.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph at the time, Claire Harvey wondered: “Why do all these women have the lips of blow-up dolls? Who tells people like Davina and Tracey they look attractive with a pair of cocktail frankfurters resting below their noses?”

One person who certainly doesn’t seem to mind Jess’ oversized pout is her MAFS cast mate Dan Webb.
The reality stars embarked on an adulterous affair on the show despite being married to other participants.
Jess and Dan were recently spotted putting on a tactile display on holiday at a Gold Coast beach where they looked more loved up than ever.
