An old interview has resurfaced where the Duchess of York speaks openly about why she and Prince Andrew really decided to get a divorce.
During an interview with the BBC back in 2008, Sarah Ferguson was asked by presenter Michael Parkinson why she and her husband split up.
Her response: “Because, I suppose, I ran up a lot of debts and I needed to get out to work,” she said.
“You can’t be a member of the Royal Family and work in this country.”
Mr Parkinson then asked the Duchess to clarify whether this was in fact the reason why the couple had divorced.

“Well, now. I think also that Andrew and I had our differences,” Sarah continued.
“We, as you know, are really steadfast in our parenting to our two girls, Beatrice and Eugenie – who are 13 and 15 years old.
“They certainly show with their confidence and security, which they have now, that our unity in our parenting has worked.
“I think that’s very important.”

Earlier this year, Sarah, who has always remained a spectacular relationship with her ex-husband, sparked rumours she is set to remarry Prince Andrew by posting a picture of herself on Instagram posing with a mannequin dressed in a stunning lace bridal gown from a shop.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Daily Mail, she called herself and Andrew “the happiest divorced couple in the world.”
“We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.”
