Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew may be friends now, but their 1996 divorce was one big ole’ mess.

Sarah Ferguson broke all the rules when she released her salacious autobiography My Story following her high-profile divorce from the Duke of York, and while the controversial move left her out of favour with the vast majority of the royal family, the Duchess of York still left her ex-husband a secret message in its opening pages.
“For Andrew,” the dedication reads.
The note may be simple, but it is still a sweet nod to her former partner.
Opening her memoir at Balmoral, Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson wrtes: “I loved most of all how Balmoral relaxed the man I had married: Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.
“On this vast estate my husband felt sprung from glaring eyes and incessant protection; he could drive about its acreage without a policeman at his side.
“He became easy and full of gentle fun, his truest self, and it was lovely to see.”
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were married at Westminster Abbey in London on July 23, 1986.
The Duke and Duchess of York have two daughters together, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
