“Who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary!” the newly married Princess wrote.
“I’m a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago… Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together.”
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew met at a Royal Ascot party in 1985 after being introduced by Princess Diana and were married in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey just a year later in 1986. Although the courtship was swift, the couple would divorce just 10 years later.
Despite being divorced for 23 years, Fergie and Prince Andrew have an increodbly close bond, which has only gotten stronger over time, sparking romance rumours in recent months.
Speaking with HELLO! Sarah Ferguson revealed that she and Prince Andrew have remained a family unit: “A table goes best with four legs. A table can’t stand on three legs, really, so you have the Duke and I, and the two girls.
“We’re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally, and we support each other health-wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, the four of us.”
