Concern about Prince Harry has amped up with a royal insider telling New Idea the new dad sparked huge concern after going missing following his charity polo match against brother Prince William on July 10.
“Harry was basically uncontactable for 48 hours and everyone was frantic with worry,” reveals the source.

Though royal insiders hoped the joint engagement – one of the brothers’ first together since feud rumours began – would put an end to their reported rift, the event seems to have served only as additional stress for the prince on top of tension and controversy surrounding son Archie’s christening days earlier.
Though the new dad smiled at his eight-week-old son while taking some time out off the field, “[he] appeared uptight and looked upon his wife with disdain”, an onlooker noted.
“It’s clear there are things on his mind and that he’s not happy with Meghan Markle.” For her part,
the duchess looked pensive, clutching baby Archie close and barely interacting with sister-in-law Kate Middleton – who attended with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – during the game.
Harry’s two-day disappearing act resulted in a flurry of drama at the palace.
While he’s thought to have told William and Meghan where he was, everyone else was none the wiser – much to their concern.
“He walked out and just took off,” tells the insider.
“He switched off his phone and ditched his security detail, so he was impossible to trace. Of course, no-one knew what was going on and everyone was worried something terrible had happened.”
The Duke of Sussex has been under pressure from many different directions of late, but it’s thought that some of Meghan’s rumoured recent antics have tipped him over the edge.
“Meghan had started keeping notes about her life [including] a few personal details about Harry and baby Archie,” an insider told Radar Online, claiming the Duchess has her sights set on writing a memoir.
She’s also reportedly in talks with Anna Wintour about being a regular Vogue columnist.
Though her authorial ambition was thwarted amid fears she’ll spill secrets about the breakdown of the Fab Four – Radar’s source says the Queen and palace staffers swiftly blocked the idea
– Meghan has already begun work on a piece for the September issue of Vogue.
The Duchess of Sussex also came under fire while at Wimbledon recently after her bodyguard requested a fellow attendee stop taking photos of her.
Embarrassingly, the tennis fan turned out to be simply taking a selfie.
Prince Harry was also apparently upset by rising family tensions and the strain between Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and his former nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke, who the Duchess once referred to as the “hired help” and who is rumoured to have had an affair with Prince Charles in the ’80s, a claim Tiggy has denied for years.
It’s a worrying development for the sixth in line to the throne who, along with his wife, has been roundly criticised in recent weeks for the way they’ve kept details of Archie’s godparents under wraps and, unlike most royals, had a totally private christening.
Harry feels as though he’s “let everyone down”, the source explains.
“[He] wasn’t expecting all the backlash over how they handled the christening.
“He’s finding it really hard to find a balance between Meghan’s demands – she was the one who wanted a private service – and his royal duties.”
