Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly rejected Prince Charles‘ plans for them to take on an estate in Herefordshire – sparking rumours that the royal couple is leaving Britain.
In an article for The Mail on Sunday, royal observer Charlotte Griffiths wrote that the Prince of Wales planned to offer the land to his son for the purpose of creating a country estate for his family near the Welsh Borders.
However, the Duke of Sussex has shown no interest in the estate.

A source told the reporter:
“In the 1980s, it was decided baby Harry would one day have a family and want to build an estate. Charles has discussed Herefordshire, thinking he’d love it.
“Perhaps back then they were expecting Harry would marry a Sloaney nursery teacher who would love nothing more than running an estate. Fast forward to 2019, and that dream seems deeply old-fashioned, not to mention unrealistic.”
According to Griffiths, the recent media storm that engulfed the couple – regarding their hypocritical use of private jets during their European holiday – had an unexpected effect on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The royal couple’s friends are reportedly suspicious that their plans to move to Los Angeles have been fast-tracked in the wake of the backlash, and some even believe Meghan and Harry secretly visited the city (where Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland lives).
“Friends say Meghan and Harry are in ‘victim mode’ and do not feel they need to change their actions, but rather, change the people around them and possibly even the country they call home. They have no wish, for the moment, to take on a stuffy shooting estate,” she stated.
Furthermore, the move would mean Doria – who is reportedly a rock to Meghan and Harry – would see more of her grandson, Archie.
