After the backlash over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s luxury French holiday – where they used Elton John’s private jet – a new US report today has made outrageous accusations about the pair’s allegedly lavish travel tastes.
According to top-selling magazine Star, despite supporters claiming they took the private jet due to security and privacy concerns, the royals actually didn’t want to board a commercial flight for other reasons.

‘Meghan worries Archie will get sick because of all the germs,’ an insider spills of the Duchess’ alleged reasons for wanting to fly private.
And with Meghan’s maternity leave coming to an end, Star says kind Harry wanted ‘to gift her a nice couple of weeks before she goes back to work.’
‘It’s no secret that she likes the finer things in life,’ says the publication’s source. ‘She’s very Hollywood in that respect.’
According to Star, the Queen is ‘not happy’.
‘She’s accused the couple of making a mockery of the monarchy, especially after Harry was called a hypocrite. She goes up to Scotland for a no-frills summer break and strongly believes that her grandson should follow suit instead of splashing out hundreds of thousands of dollars on mansions in Ibiza and the south of France like some A-list celebrity.’
Giving the other side of the story, Elton John has defended the couple amid the attacks they received over the trip.
‘After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home,’ he explained.
‘To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight. To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint.’
Regardless of what the US press is saying, Prince Harry this week appeared to be putting the private jet scandal behind him.
Over the weekend, the Duke of Sussex made his first public appearance since July 25, as he attended the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
Prince Harry visited Wembley as patron of the Rugby Football League and shook hands with both the Warrington Wolves and St Helens before standing to sing the national anthem and was warmly greeted by the crowd.
