Harry and Meghan post their first tribute to Princess Diana on Instagram

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have posted their first tribute to Princess Diana.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share an inspiring quote made by the people’s princess who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1997.

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you,” the quote read. 

The new parents to Archie Harrison captioned the post some beautiful words.

“Words have the power to inspire, which is why we’re happy to share some of our favourite quotes.

“From members of the public to public figures, from teachers and students to young leaders, we begin with a quote from Diana, Princess of Wales.”

While this is the first time the royal duo have mentioned Diana on Instagram, there have been several subtle tributes to Harry’s mother, including Meghan’s Mother’s Day post which featured a photo of Archie surrounded by Diana’s favourite flower, forget-me-nots.

Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale were also included in little Archie’s official christening portrait

“Harry is close to Diana’s family,” a royal insider told PEOPLE. “It meant a lot to them to share a photo of their full family.”
