Sarah Ferguson may have been welcomed back into the royal family in recent years, even admitting she’s “living a fairytale” with ex-husband Prince Andrew, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing.
The Duchess of York wed Andrew in a lavish Westminster Abbey wedding in 1986 with the world eagerly watching as they sealed it with a kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
However, according to Fergie, cracks began to appear in their marriage just two weeks later, when Prince Andrew was sent to sea.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in 2011, Fergie opened up about palace life, claiming aides told her to “grow up” and “get a grip.”
“Two weeks after the wedding, the royal courtiers told Andrew, who thought he’d be stationed in London, ‘you have to go to sea,” Fergie said.
“I spent my entire first pregnancy alone.
“When Beatrice was born, Andrew got ten days of shore leave and when he left and I cried, they all said: ‘Grow up and get a grip.’”

Fergie and Prince Andrew welcomed Princess Beatrice into the world in 1988 and Prince Eugenie in 1990.
In 1993, Buckingham Palace officially announced the couple’s decision to part ways.
Speaking to Modern Hero in November, Fergie admitted she’s now living her life happily with Andrew.
“Now our life together is the greatest ever,” she admitted.
“It’s so hard to comprehend because we’re not normal.
“This is our fairytale, and we’re telling it our way.”
