Another member of Meghan Markle‘s family has slammed comments made by Prince Harry after he called the royals the family that Meghan’s “never had.
Thomas Markle Jr., the actress’ half-brother, spoke to the Daily Mail about the prince’s comments.
“It was just a little shocking because Meghan had an amazing, amazing childhood growing up and she had a lot of family,” Markle Jr. said. “Especially at Christmas and the holidays, she had Christmas at my house, Christmas at her mom’s house, my dad’s house.”
“So, as far as ‘the family that she never had,’ I don’t really get that.”
Markle Jr. also says that his father, Thomas Markle Sr., and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, “would be confused” about Harry’s comments.
“My dad was the biggest anchor in everybody’s lives and the holidays were really important to him,” Markle Jr. said.
Meanwhile Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Grant, says that the former Suits actress was loved and supported growing up.
“Actually she [Meghan] has a large family who were always there with her and for her.”
“Our household was very normal and when dad and Doria divorced, we all made it so it was like she had two houses.”
“No one was estranged, she was just too busy.”
“Meg’s family (our family) is complete with sister, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the glue of our family, our amazing completely self-sacrificing father. She always had this family … Marrying merely extends it.”
“She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self sacrificing. We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!”
