And now, it appears the Duchess’ fears are seemingly warranted, after a new poll for Metro found she is one of the most unpopular members of the British royal family.
According to Express, only 41 per cent of 1,005 people surveyed rated the Duchess favourably, which made her the second least favourite royal after Prince Andrew.
In the poll, which was divided into age categories, Megan’s approval rating peaked at about 67 per cent, with 18 to 24-year-olds being her biggest fans.
In contrast, the Duchess’ popularity among the 55 to 64-year-old group was significantly less, with a mere 28 per cent of those surveyed viewing her in a positive light.
While those who liked Meghan were predominantly younger, the survey also found that she had a loyal following among people who identified as being politically left.
The survey comes after Meghan appeared in the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, where she confessed she was “existing, not living”.
In the survey, people were asked to comment on Meghan’s shocking revelation, with 71 per cent of younger Brits revealing they empathised with her feelings.
Despite the overwhelming show of support from 18 to 24-year-olds, the older group said that they didn’t feel sorry for the Duchess after hearing her comments.
Meghan’s unpopularity vote comes after it was revealed she will join her mother-in-law Camilla, when she visit the 91st Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on November 7.
While Harry has previously attended the event, it will be a first for Meghan and the Duchess of Cornwall, who is also Patron of the Poppy Factory.
The event is just one of several official engagements Meghan and Harry will attend this week, before they join the entire family at the traditional Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
