The ONE thing Meghan wouldn’t eat at lunch

A chef at the event reveals details.

There is one native Australian food that Meghan Markle declined to eat during her tour Down Under.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex munched on a menu made from native ingredients at Mission Australia’s Melbourne-based social enterprise restaurant, Charcoal Lane.

‘With the finger limes, they’re like little caviars. When you eat it in your mouth it pops and the flavour is beautiful,’ apprentice chef at the establishment Brooke Warr revealed to news.com.au.

‘It was optional if they wanted to taste it. Harry did but Meghan didn’t. She was smelling it, but that’s understandable because she’s pregnant and being cautious.’

Finger limes are a fruit rich in folate, potassium and vitamin E and are used to garnish food.

Program manager Troy Crellin also said Prince Harry skipped over some of the menu.

‘Harry tried some [of the ingredients] but he wasn’t game to try the pepper leaf, which is what we tend to give to the naughty kids anyway. It’s a little bit hot,’ Mr Crellin said.

Prince Harry, 34, is touring Australia with pregnant wife Meghan Markle, 37, to help herald the start of Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style contest for wounded, sick and injured servicemen and women and veterans, which starts in Sydney this weekend.
