House Rules has officially kicked off it’s 2018 season tonight, and a shocking injury has rocked the contestants.
As the build began on the hit renovation show’s first episode, Carolyn Burns McCrave was called in to help the teams with all their design questions.
While helping Adelaide couple Jess and Jared, Carolyn was shockingly hit by a wooden beam that had come loose.

Panic ensues on the build site.
Fellow contestants and work men yell, ‘Get a medic, get a medic.’
The medic tells Carolyn, ‘It’s going to be very bruised, but you’re alright.’
Carolyn is shown telling the workers, ‘I’m alright, I’m okay.’

Jared later tells the camera, ‘It happened in a flash.’
‘A bit of timber came flying out of the top level, right at the top of the ceiling, so a bit of a shock, obviously.’
Carolyn is shown being gently ushered off the building site, clearly rattled by the traumatic experience.
The fellow House Rules teams are then shown sending their well wishes to the design expert.

Later, Carolyn gives an update on her condition.
‘I’m feeling sore,’ she tells the camera. ‘I’m hoping there is no chips or breaks.’
The extent of Carolyn’s injuries are shown, as she’s heard saying: ‘I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.’

Carolyn is believed to make a return to House Rules later in the season.
