Justin and Kristi Rogers lost their little girl, Addy, two, on January 26.

She passed away after a battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome – a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart.

She died after suffering a brain injury as she waited for a heart transplant.

‘I’m broken. I don’t know how to live in a world that doesn’t have Addy in it. She’s fought so hard and been through more than anyone deserves. It’s not fair,’ her devastated mum shared on Facebook before she passed away.

‘I keep wishing this was all a bad dream and I will wake up tomorrow to it never happening.

‘She’s had family in and out all day, we’ve watched Trolls and Finding Dory. We took a nap cuddling together and made keepsakes with her hand and foot prints!

‘I don’t think I’m strong enough to do this. I shouldn’t have to be thinking about what outfit and bow to bury my daughter in but I am.

‘She’s going to be the prettiest angel and not be in anymore pain or scared ever again. No more surgeries or iv pokes or struggling to live.

‘She’s going to give all the high fives and say too slow every time, run fast and say I’m runnin fast. I’m jealous they get to see her run and be happy.’

After Addy died at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in the US, her parents penned a poignant obituary describing her as ‘the happiest girl in the world’.

‘She went through more in her short 2 years than most do in a lifetime, smiling the whole time. She loved playing with her brothers and cheering them on at their baseball games.

‘Spending time with family and being outside riding the ranger and looking for the moon at night were some of her favorites. She loved watching movies and Mickey Mouse! She was loved by everyone she met and will be extremely missed,’ they wrote.

‘Her smile and big eyes changed the world for the better and we know she’s giving everyone high fives and having the biggest Trolls dance party in heaven right now!’

The family hopes a series of photos taken by photographer Suha Dabit can spread the message about the importance of organ donation.

‘Kristi and Justin, thank you for allowing me to share with the world such personal and intimate moments,’ Suha wrote on her Facebook page World of Broken Hearts.

‘Fly high baby girl. You fought so hard and touched so many lives.’
