The National Enquirer has claimed that 37-year-old royal is expecting two bundles of joy with palace sources confirming that the arrival of twins would signal the first set of royal twins in 589 years.
The source told the publication, "Meghan has the best doctors and health advisers that money can buy, waiting on her hand foot."
Apparently, the Duchess of Sussex discovered she was having twins when she went for a checkup after feeling a little bit under the weather. The checkup also revealed that the babies are girls.
When Meghan first heard the news she is expecting twins, she immediately told the 92-year-old Queen the news.
"Meghan couldn't contain her excitement. She blurted out the news, and Queen Elizabeth offered her congratulations," said the insider.
It is believed that Meghan announced to the whole family at Christmas time that she is expecting twin girls.
The news reportedly escaped palace walls when a royal staffer suggested items for the nursery should be doubled and ordered in pink.
Although it has been centuries since royal twins were welcomed to the family, twins run in Harry's family on his mother's side.
His uncle Charles Spencer has identical twin daughters, while Harry's maternal great-grandfather Edmund Maurice Burke Roche was also an identical twin.
