Philodendron
This group of tropical plants thrive in an indoor environment especially a spot that has a bit of indirect light during the day. Philodendrons come in an array of colours and leaf shapes including the broad, red oblong leaves of the Philodendron Tatei and the vivid green heart shaped leaves of the Phiodendron Cordatum.
Mother in Law’s Tongue (Sansevieria)
What Stephen calls a Snake Plant in the video is known in Australia by the curious name Mother-in-Law’s Tongue. They are extremely hardy plants that tolerate a lot of neglect and can bounce back when you give them a bit of love.
Peace Lily
A hardy indoor plant with deep green foliage that blooms with trumpet shaped snow-white flowers, they’re also recognised as great natural air purifiers. Peace Lilies are really low maintenance you just need to water whenever the soil is starting to dry out, no more than once a week at most.
Pothos
A great variety of indoor plants for beginners the pothos family includes indoor winners like Devil’s Ivy a plant that will reward your neglect with long tendrils covered in lush, green heart-shaped leaves and they look great trailing off the edge of a shelf, table or window sill.
Dwarf Jade Plant
A succulent that is extremely low maintenance and has bright green jewel shaped leaves and a woody trunk. Sit them on a table in bright, indirect light and water whenever the top soil is completely dry (2 weeks usually) and not only will your Jade Plant thrive they may even reward you with some delicate pink flowers.
