1 Prioritize

Before you do anything sit down with your partner to be and each make a list of your top three priorities. This will help you make your special day perfect for the two of you, it will also help you pick a venue that is perfect for both of you.  And remember to add priority 3.1 – The Dress! Unless you’ve had your dream dress picked out since you were age 6, there’s a high chance you’ll try on yards of lace/chiffon/taffeta/tulle before finding The One. That means setting aside plenty of weekends to dress shop before the official walk down the aisle…

2 Write your vows

Don’t fall into the easy trap of getting so caught up in the nitty gritty details that you forget to write your vows! Set aside some time a couple of weeks out to think and write meaningful vowels so you aren’t rushed.

4\ Have a plan B

Dark and gloomy clouds are every bride’s worst nightmare, make sure you have a solid wet weather plan in place, so that no matter the weather you’re prepared. This goes for your venue but also for your photos, a great indoor location for some intimate pics could be a stable or barn or the church after everyone’s left.

5\ The list of all lists

When it comes to organising your big day you’re going to need to write your best list yet. Write down absolutely everything from booking a fake tan two days out to organising a wedding band and to make it happen, set yourself some deadlines which will help hold yourself accountable. Make your list digital with a Trello board that you and your partner can both access.

6\ Budget

The average cost of a wedding in Australia is $53,168, from the get-go decide on a budget. Give yourself some wiggle room of 15% because let’s be honest even if you’re amazing with budgets there is always a hidden cost here and there.

8\ Take some time out

You’re surrounded by your closest family and friends but remember to take some time as a couple to enjoy your special day. Even if it is just ten minutes it will help you two soak in the moment and celebrate the beginning of your marriage.
