It was the moment that reduced the Sunrise team to a giggling mess: host Samantha Armytage’s lewd slip of the tongue during a live cross to popular weatherman Sam Mac.
Introducing a segment that showed Sam enjoying a stunning resort holiday, Samantha delivered one of the more memorable lines in the history of the show.

‘Sam Mac, you’ve had a humdinger this morning in the C*ck Islands,’ began Samantha, before realising exactly what she had just said, quickly correcting herself by blurting, ‘Cook Islands.’
Samantha and the team then dissolved into laughter, with the spotlight turning to Sam Mac, who was standing in an outdoor shower recess at one of the tropical destination’s top resorts.
‘Well I mean I can either pretend that didn’t just happen, or I could just enjoy it,’ he cheekily replied, before crumbling into gales of laughter.
‘That actually just happened…. Hi ABC!’
Always the professional, Sam then composed himself enough to the promote a travel deal to the islands.
It’s not the first on-air meltdown to liven things up on the show recently.
Discussing a story about sport and exercise, Kochie said he was considering getting his wife of 40 years, Libby Koch, involved.
Samantha concurred, joking that she could do it at the Sunrise studio.
‘We’ll set up a mat on the performance area and Lib can come in and do it,’ the host quipped.
‘It’s a mixed event. You can do it together – both of you,’ Mark Beretta added, joining in on the banter.
Samantha continued to discuss the idea through spurts of laughter.
‘What’s wrong with middle-aged people getting their rocks off?’ the 42-year-old said.
‘We still get our rocks off,’ Kochie jokingly replied, sending his cohosts into uncontrollable laughter.
Samantha was laughing so hard that she covered her face and threw her head back, while Mark was forced to turn away in laughter.
The team are known for their fun banter, with Samantha and co-host Natalie Barr recently answering some rather confronting questions from viewers of the show.
When one fan asked the pair ‘Are you all really as nice as you appear to be on Sunrise?’ Nat came back with a surprising answer.
‘Nah, she’s a b*tch faced moll,’ Natalie responded, as they both burst into laughter.
She then backtracked, saying ‘No she’s not, I just love that term.’
Samantha then went on to honestly answer the question, saying that what you see is what you get when it comes to the Sunrise team, which also includes David Koch and Mark Beretta.
‘We’re fairly much, what you see is what you get because there’s no time for BS that time of day,’ she revealed.
‘And we’re all fairly straight shooters, that’s why they put us together as a team. So, are we as nice as we appear? We don’t always appear to be nice.’
