And six years on from the horrific event that saw Turia Pitt suffer 65% burns to her body, the inspirational marathon runner has revealed to fans she’s ‘never been happier’.
Taking to Instagram to share a selfie, the 30-year-old wrote:
‘I’ve never felt compelled to acknowledge the anniversary, but it’s been six years today since I was trapped in a grassfire competing in an ultra marathon,’ she started the post.
‘It’s been bloody tough and there have been some massive lows, but I’ve managed to rebuilt my life and I can honestly say, I’ve never been happier.’
‘This post is for anyone going through a rough patch or a s**t time – hang in there, surround yourself with good people and never lose hope for the future.’
The heartfelt post, shared just a few hours ago, has already attracted nearly 20,000 likes from fans.

The star is expected to give birth to a baby boy in November and has been sharing updates of her burgeoning baby bump with fans.
