The daughter of ex-PM Tony Abbott has shown she’s definitely inherited her father’s competitive nature by taking part in her first bodybuilding competition.
The fitness-obsessed 26-year-old took to the stage in Melbourne today to mark her debut into the world of fitness modelling’ at the Australian ACN State Bodybuilding Titles.
After ditching her plans for a career in fashion, Frances is now a personal trainer, and her show-stopping performance capped a gruelling weeks-long preparation of extreme diet and exercise, all of which was documented on social media.
“One week to go. The home stretch. Stage is in sight. It ain’t gonna be easy. But it sure as hell is exciting,’ adding; “No mirror, just judges and a crowd of people and not much in the way of pants, just a few inches of Lycra and some bling bling.” She captioned a picture on Instagram just days before her performance.
Despite Frances’ best efforts, she missed out on a placing, instead accepting a ‘participation award’.
However, her performance will no doubt have made her politician father proud – a dedicated runner, Tony can often be found jogging around Parliament House in Canberra or his neighbourhood in Forestville.
