It has been a difficult first few weeks for Queensland couple Tess and Luke on The Block.
Not only did the couple fail to complete their first two rooms, they also found themselves at breaking point when they lost their builder three and a half days before their formal lounge was due.

“It was definitely stressful trying to find someone who would take on a huge project like The Block,” Luke tells New Idea.
“But it’s better that the changes were made early on rather than getting halfway through the build.”
The pressures of the show have also left the couple butting heads at times.
“Luke and I have a solid relationship and we have had a lot of ups and down in the past, but The Block is very different … I don’t think we have ever fought like that before,” says Tess.
“However, at the end of the day we had each other’s backs. Our marriage was new and there was no way we were going to let a TV show ruin that, so we just tried to focus on our relationship and make sure each other was OK.”
