WATCH NOW: Shannon’s Married at First Sight audition video. Article continues after video.

Just weeks into the reality television experiment, Shannon decided to leave after revealing to the experts that his on-screen bride Caitlin McConville was “not his type” and that he was “still in love” with his ex. His admission came as no surprise to fans watching at home, after Shannon routinely left Caitlin alone to go visit his ex and their four-year-old child.

The 30-year-old from Victoria even went as far as to criticize Caitlin’s appearance telling her that she was a “good-looking girl – just not in my eyes.”

After breaking down on the couch during a commitment ceremony and insisting she deserved better, Caitlin pleaded with the experts to depart the show.

Following their departure from the experiment, Shannon reunited with Jamea and it seems history was destined to repeat itself with the couple coming back together to make baby number two.

Speaking with So Dramatic! podcast host Megan Pustetto, an unidentified family member close to the couple revealed that Shannon wanted to leave MAFS because he discovered that Jamea was pregnant during filming.

“Shannon left the show not only because he was still in love with his ex but because he also found out she was pregnant with his child,” they said.

“That’s why he leaves [left] the show because Jamea calls him and tells him she’s pregnant.”

The news allegedly left the reality star “distraught.”

The source also revealed that MAFS producers caught Shannon having s** at the Skye Suites in Sydney where the show was being filmed.

“They were on and off right up until he left for filming,” the insider explained. And apparently, based on this information, on and off DURING filming as well.

But speaking with Pedestrian TV, Jamea vehemently denied meeting up with Shannon during the filming of MAFS.

“I’m only 17 weeks pregnant,” she clarified.

“I NEVER saw him in Sydney. The baby was well after he returned from the show.”

Prior to leaving the experiment, MAFS expert John Aitken blasted Shannon and fellow groom Harrison Boon for behaving “unacceptably.”

“You two guys applied for an experiment over 10,000 people put their hands up for. And a week after coming in you were hanging out with an ex.”

“That is unacceptable. If you told us that our answer would have been you are not coming on. We are only looking for single people looking for love.

“It’s selfish and disrespectful behaviour. You’re saying you want to fall in love and yet you are not 100 percent committed to it,” he added.

Jamea herself confirmed her pregnancy on her own Instagram account, writing “In early October, Milli will have a little sister, and I will have another little bestie. Didn’t think I’d be doing it as a solo single mum. But thankfully with all the love of my family and friends I’ll have the best support I need xx”

Milli is of course the daughter that Shannon and Jamea already co parent.

“We were working on the relationship after the show. But once the show aired his actions came up. The comments made and how he portrayed me made it [the relationship] rocky,” Jamea said to Pedestrian TV.

“The hate started from the public after the airing of the show, he went to Melbourne for some space and we called it quits in March.”

“Hopefully Shan [Shannon] decides to be a part of the kids’ lives and we can get along.”
