Thirteen has always been a lucky number for rock icon Jimmy Barnes.
It’s the date of his adored wife Jane’s birthday, so it’s been special ever since they met. It’s the number he used to wear on his footy jumpers onstage.
And now it’s more blessed than ever, with the arrival of the gravel-voiced legend’s 13th grandchild – Rosetta Elizabeth Rodgers – courtesy of daughter Mahalia and son-in-law Ben.
‘No matter whether you’re superstitious or not, one look at this beautiful baby and you can see we are lucky already,’ grins 60-year-old Jimmy, who proudly confides that he has also become a great-grandfather.
‘She is a gorgeous little thing, and from the get-go young Rosetta has had a hell of a voice.
‘We’re not sure about the pitch yet, but she’s got the power. She’s certainly got lungs, although she’s a really good girl and only cries when she’s hungry!’
