The ex-Today show host will be speaking to everyday Australians tackling monumental goals over the course of a year.
“I’ve met some truly inspiring Australians who will warm the hearts of viewers by pledging to reach huge personal goals in just one year,” Karl said.
The feelgood show sees people from across Australia changing their lives forever, including finding love, achieving world records and reuniting with relatives.
“We have a whole new group of contributors as diverse as a 101-year-old woman who wants to learn to fly, a wheelchair-bound mum who dreams of running in the backyard with her five-year-old son, and a woman who wants to medically transition to being a man,” Karl said.

The Channel 9 star says working on the show has been an emotional experience.
“This Time Next Year is an absolute joy to work on, and I’m not going to lie, I shed a tear or two.”
Karl was axed from the Today show last year after being the subject of controversy.
At the time of his dismissal, Karl said he was looking forward to returning to Channel Nine after taking some time off.
