She may now be an Oscar-winning actress with the ability to hand-pick whatever roles she likes, but the acting world wasn’t always that easy for Jennifer Lawrence.
Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwarz has revealed that now 27-year-old Jennifer once auditioned for the role of Serena van der Woodsen, before losing out on the part to Blake Lively.
According to Schwartz, the then unknown actress was ‘bummed not to get’ the role.
‘We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned,’ he spilled to Vulture.
‘This story came to us second-hand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.’
However, thankfully Jennifer wasn’t left out of work for too long.
At 21 she was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Winter’s Bone.
And in 2013, she took home the Academy Award for Best Actress in Silver Linings Playbook.
