In a shock admission from her new book, The Princess Diarist, veteran actress Carrie Fisher has revealed that she and Harrison Ford had an affair on the Tunisian set of 1977’s hit Star Wars.
Fisher, 60, and Ford, now 74, stole the screen as Princess Leia and Han Solo and spent a lot of time together. Inevitably it became intimate despite the fact Harrison was married with children at the time.
Fisher was 19 and Ford was 34 at the time. According to Radar Online, she explains in the book that their initial romps were a let down, which she “let slide because he was really handsome.”
Whilst rumours have encircled the two for years that they had spent intimate time together, Fisher’s admissions in her book reveal the truth.
The Princess Diarist is scheduled for release on 22 November, and contains several excerpts from a diary the author kept of the affair.
In one entry, she says she attempted “relentlessly” to coax Ford into loving her and even came up with fantasies of him proposing to her with a “gold band with diamonds (inscribed) ‘Carrison’.”
Fisher admitted in 2008, “I went on the film saying, ‘I’m going to have an affair,’ like it was a kiwi, an exotic fruit — because I’d never had one. I had a crush on Harrison for sure. Harrison is great fun when he’s had a few drinks.”
