He’s been hit with shocking abuse claims amid the divorce from hell, but actor Brad Pitt says he’s determined to settle things amicably.
‘He will only say positive things about [the] mother [of his children],’ a source told ET. ‘He has also made it clear to friends to not say anything negative about her. He continues to hope that there is an amicable resolution in the interest of the kids.’
As for the plane altercation between Pitt, 52, and 15-year-old son, Maddox, that reportedly caused Angelina Jolie to file for divorce last week, the source says the claims are ‘exaggerated or untrue.’
‘There was no inappropriate physical contact. Nothing inappropriate happened,’ the source said added describing hat happened as a ‘normal’ tiff.
In addition to Jolie reportedly cutting off all contact with Pitt, she and their six children are living in a rental property in Malibu, California, where they’ve been since last week.
It’s been reported that a difference in priorities was cause for the couple’s split after two years of marriage, with Jolie wanting to focus on her work as a UNHCR Special Envoy and Pitt, his acting career.
‘Every marriage has priorities and they have been able to navigate them up until now,’ the source said. ‘Brad has different priorities. He’s a leading actor with movies coming out. She has her things she wants to do and no one is saying that’s wrong.’
