“[It] was so sudden and brutal that it took my breath away,” she told Confidential.

“It was devastating. I’m absolutely gutted.”

On July 8, Goodwin appeared on The Morning Show and promised to return to the dance floor.

“Despite being told that I probably should withdraw, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got, so I don’t quit easy,” Goodwin said.

“And the beautiful thing about this production is that they’ve got some marvellous people. They’ve got the dance doctor in Bondi, who is all over this.

“So I’m getting acupuncture, homeopathic treatment, massage. I’m swimming, I do healing meditations and listen to healing tones in my headphones.

“So, I’m absolutely going hell for leather to get as well as I can in the hope that I can be up and dancing again very soon.”

The 53-year-old mum was rushed to hospital immediately after “something snapped” during dance rehearsals.

“I was jumping on poor Andrey here,” she told Sonia on the show. “Something snapped and fortunately, it was my leg and not his back. It was my calf muscle.”

Goodwin shared pictures of her injury on Instagram alongside a message, updating her fans on her progress.

“Break a leg they said! 😳 Oops. Not quite,” she wrote.

“This is NOT how we wanted our @dancingau journey to go. After more than 5 weeks of 40+ hours pw training, this injury was devastating. @andrey_dance is, as always supportive and beautiful through it all.

“When scans came back they showed two serious tears in the calf. The initial advice was to withdraw. But watch this space, because I never quit easily and I’ll be doing everything in my power, and the power of the medical professionals, to get back on the floor.

“Send us luck and positive energy please. We wanna dance, dammit!

Luckily for Goodwin, she was treated straight away and with the right amount of rest, will be able to return back to the dance floor very soon – possibly by the third episode!

“It’s going to be all right. We’re going to be all right. Bedazzle the moon boot and away we’ll go,” she said.
