Another day, another popular Kmart product, only this time it’s making waves amongst parents – and children.
The Australian retail giant has launched a series of dolls which challenge the traditional body type that’s portrayed by popular dolls such as Barbie.
Parents are applauding the $4 ‘Glamour dolls’ for representing a healthy body image for children.
“Spotted these ‘Glamour Dolls’ today. Same height as Barbie but twice the width, i.e., a normal human size. How good!” wrote one mum on Facebook.
“About time, need some realism,” said another.
While one parent noted: “They actually have sensible shoes on!”
The dolls are also popular with the older generation.
“What a great idea… will be getting one for my grand daughter. Good on you Kmart!” said one grandmother.
And at just $4 a doll, the affordable price tag is also keeping Australian parents happy.
