Meghan Markle’s 74-year-old father told the Mail on Sunday that he wanted to attend the celebration held at Windsor.
“I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened,” he told the Mail. “I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents’ health and happiness.”
Just hours after the christening, Prince Harry and Meghan took to Instagram to release two beautiful photographs taken by photographer Chris Allerton at Windsor Castle.
A family photo inside the castle’s Green Drawing Room shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sitting with their child alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Standing behind them are the Prince of Wales, Meghan’s mother and Thomas’ ex-wife Doria Ragland, the Duke of Cambridge and the sisters of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale.
Thomas, who resides in Mexico, was absent at his daughter’s wedding to the royal in May 2018 after being involved in a photo scandal and suffering some health issues.
He has since been talking to the press on a regular basis and as a result has been cut off from communicating with his daughter.
