The Queen owns a McDonalds branch

Who knew?

It’s no secret the Queen has an impressive property portfolio, with the Crown Estate including some incredibly grand and iconic holdings.

But apparently it’s not all large estates and castles under the Queen’s portfolio belt. 

The monarch is also a proud owner of a branch of fast-food chain, McDonalds.

The Banbury Gateway Shopping Park in Oxford is on land that forms part of the Crown Estate, which is host to a McDonald’s chain.

Technically, the Crown Estate is not the Queen’s personal property, but is instead owned by Sovereign in the right of the Crown, with its profit going to the Treasury.
