Some of the panellists on the Jeremy Vine show have labelled it a “PR disaster” after it was revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were paid to attend a JPMorgan summit in Miami last week.

It is understood Harry and his former Suits actress wife made a staggering $1 million from their appearance, which was attended by business heavyweights such as Bob Kraft, Alex Rodriguez and Magic Johnson.

Show panellist Bobby Friction said if Prince Charles did the same thing, we wouldn’t have a problem.

“On a PR level let’s just think about Prince Charles who is still a member of the Royal Family,” said Friction.

“If he went there, we wouldn’t be criticising him in the same way.”

Panellist Dawn Neesom added: “Yes, I would because he would have flown there in a private jet like Harry and Meghan did so, don’t give me a lecture on it.”

Mr Friction intervened: “I think the way the great British public have reacted to this story wouldn’t be the same because they would have said, ‘well he’s working for the royal family, he’s obviously a learned man’.

“Prince Charles has had a lot of experience, ‘let him do that’.

“I totally understand what you mean about it being a slight PR disaster for them.

“It’s the first gig that they’re doing but they wanted to do this so let them.”

Neesom continued to disagree, saying that JP Morgan are “the wrong people to get in bed with”.

“I get that they need to make their own money, I have absolutely no problem with that,” Neesom concluded, before adding: “But JP Morgan are really the wrong people to be getting into bed with.”

It was at this even that Harry reportedly told the audience that he has spent the last seven years in therapy dealing with the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
