For months rumours have circulated about the apparent tension between the Sussexes and Cambridges. Now a reported feud between the young royals has spread to peripheral members of their families.

A source tells New Idea that Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton is at the centre of the latest drama. She has reportedly heard rumours about Meghan attempting to turn her sister-in-law against her. Now, without being bound by the confines of having to follow royal protocols, Pippa is allegedly making her views on the duchess very clear.
“Pippa is now outwardly furious and speaking her mind publicly about her dislike
for Meghan. Pippa has had mutual friends turn against her because of Meghan and her rumours and her ‘divide and conquer’ mentality towards their social circles, which cross over,” explains the insider.
Now Pippa is certain that Meghan was behind an attempt to drive a wedge between her and Vogue Williams, a TV presenter. Vogue is married to reality TV star, Spencer Matthews, brother to Pippa’s husband, James Matthews.
“Vogue Williams originally heard rumours that Pippa thought she was too low class to join their clique. Pippa would never think that way,” the source says.
“Vogue and Pippa finally spoke and realised the whole thing was a misunderstanding. This was a major reason behind Kate originally getting offside with Meghan even before the wedding to Harry,” they add.
The source claims that a lot of the drama between the women began to surface around Pippa’s wedding in May 2017.
“There was a ‘no ring no bring’ rule which Vogue was totally fine about as it was early days. Meghan, who was only dating Harry at the time, attended the reception and was keen to let everyone know that an exception was made for her,” the source says.
However, before Meghan met Harry, Pippa and Meghan had many mutual friends and while not close, they were always cordial when their paths crossed.
But since Meghan became part of the royal family, this friendship has reportedly soured.
“Pippa fiercely supports her sister and isn’t impressed about Meghan trying to constantly outshine Kate.
“She is also aware that Meghan has been trying to steal designers that Kate loves away from her,” adds the source.
And now since Meghan and Harry started their own social media account, it appears they are distancing themselves further from the royal family.
“They’re trying to be their own royal family. New-age, celebrity royals like a totally new era and palace of their own,” says the source, who adds that they are planning an offshoot of sorts to the official royal family and the breaking of the normal traditions.
And Meghan has a plan up her sleeve underway.
“The new Instagram is all part of her plan to cement her star status.
“She wants to outnumber Kate and believes the following on Instagram will do that.
“She’s certain she will be the bigger star and that’s all she cares about.”
Meanwhile, Kate is feeling increasing exasperated.
“It’s just outwardly pushing her further away and solidifying their fractured relationship,” the insider adds.
“Between trying to steal the fashion designers and separating the staff; Instagram accounts and all the competition, Kate is finding the whole Meghan show in very bad taste.”
She is also mindful that royal protocol, which dictates how she and Meghan behave, appears to be disregarded.
“Tradition is kind of what the gig is being a royal and Meghan is not interested in following protocol.”
