Revealed: What Meghan and Harry do with their gifts

Interesting.

Ever wondered what the royals do with all their gifts, including bouquets of flowers, handwritten notes and gifts for their impending royal baby?

The royal family’s gift policy reveals they can accept and use gifts from individuals, provided they cost less than GBP £150 (AUD $276).

If the gift cost exceeds that amount, they can be given back to the person or gifted to ‘another body or organisation [who] might be able to make better use of them than the Member of the Royal Family’ or treated as an ‘official gift’.

The royal family release a list of gifts received on a yearly basis. The information includes who and where it came from as well as what it was a who it was for.

Prince Harry, 34, is touring Australia with pregnant wife Meghan Markle, 37, to help herald the start of Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style contest for wounded, sick and injured servicemen and women and veterans, which starts in Sydney this weekend.
