Former Married at First Sight stars Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have taken to her YouTube channel to insist they haven’t split – amid reports they are only still presenting as a couple for business reasons, particularly to promote her video and social platforms.

With the MAFS couple insisting they are still an item, Martha then proceeded to try to create more viral content by supposedly ‘ambushing’ Michael with a demand that he show her his Instagram inbox, in case that women were trying to seduce him.

‘Seeing as everyone thinks we have broken up, I’ve been thinking, “I wonder what girls are writing to him in his [Instagram] direct messages?”‘ the former Channel Nine reality TV celeb and selfie queen bizarrely declares in the rambling video.

With no scandalous material located, the segment fell flat, with Martha again trying to ramp up the drama with a series of boring teases and mundane revelations.

‘I kind of feel like, ew. No one wants you, what am I doing with you?’ the MAFs star and makeup artist said.

But are things as they seem?

A source close to the couple reveals: ‘They made a pact that they would stay together until the hype from the show died down, to maximise their opportunities.

‘Martha is savvy, she knows they are more valuable together than they are apart.’

The source says that while Michael is ready to call it quits, Martha is holding on to the primary school teacher just to score publicity.

‘Now that she’s got her wish, you can put money on the fact that she will dump him within a month…’

Rumours have been swirling that Michael and Martha’s relationship is not genuine. Just last week, Martha flew to Sydney solo to see friends, and despite being ‘husband and wife’, the pair both moved back in with their parents.

‘Martha is only focused on two things at the moment – her YouTube channel and increasing her Instagram followers,’ a source explains.
