Davina Rankin, one of the most controversial reality star’s Married At First Sight has ever seen, has spoken out for the first time since her affair with fellow MAFS contestant Dean Wells was revealed.
Appearing on A Current Affair, the 26-year-old Instagram model described the public backlash as ‘scary.’
‘I’ve really put myself out there for the whole world,’ she said. ‘Well, the whole of Australia, to really judge me and criticise me.’
On Wednesday night’s explosive episode of MAFS, Davina and Dean acted on their mutual feelings of each other, despite their respective partners – Tracey Jewel and Ryan Gallagher – being in the next room.
Speaking to ACA about her newfound notoriety, Davina reveals she is not used to the attention.
‘I’ve [always] lived happily in my bubble, and you know no-one really gives me any grief,’ she says. ‘If anyone can deal with it, it’s going to be me. I can handle it.’
Speaking to WHO magazine, Ryan Gallagher revealed that watching the scenes play out on television he ‘felt stupid.
‘It wasn’t nice seeing all the negative things she was saying about me. I didn’t know anyone could hate someone so much, just for themselves,’ he said.
