Reality TV show in ‘manipulation’ controversy! Yes, Australian Survivor is under the microscope today, after fans called foul on contestant Harry Hills finding an all-too-convenient immunity idol that saved his bacon and upped the drama on the highly produced show.

The incident, which instantly changed the game, happened after Harry had just been talking about needing one of the sought-after items.
He was straight after shown suddenly spotting one, while on camera.
Incensed fans rushed to social media, with some labelling the lucky incident an example of alleged rigging – or at the very least, strangely miraculous.
‘If I want any chance of controlling the votes going forward, I need to get back in control of my game,’ Harry had been shown babbling to the camera. ‘I need strength on my side. I basically need to find a hidden immunity idol as soon as possible.
‘Without a clue it’s really hard. So, I need to utilise all of my skills to find it.’
It was seemingly shortly after that he spotted the amulet, swinging in a tree.
Theatrically rolling around on the ground as he clutched the item, Harry gushed, ‘Not only could this save me in the game, but I am a huge Survivor fan.’
‘Having this is such an accomplishment and I am so happy to have this in my hands, because it is mine.
‘I thought it was me gone but now I am staying in this game.’
But not everyone was buying it. One fan raged on Twitter, ‘Is this rigged? Harry stares up in the big blue yonder hoping to find an idol and there you go, he finds one.’

While another posted, ‘Another immunity idol “miraculously” appears on #SurvivorAU Too convenient!’
A third noted, ‘It’s always the person who absolutely needs a idol that just happens to randomly find them.’
The Twitter account for Australian Survivor attempted to scotch the reaction, suggesting the sequence of events was simply a reflection of editing necessities, and did not represent evidence of anything dodgy.
‘Sorry, but do you want to watch someone searching for an idol for hours? Hardly compelling TV is it?’ wrote the unusually sassy official tweeter.
