She married in a woodland ceremony in festival-inspired gown – and now the talented artist who painted Constance Hall and her new husband Denim on their wedding day has shared a video of his work in progress.
Fremantle-based Jacob Butler – who goes by the name Shakey – is a self-taught artist who has experienced a tremor since birth that he uses to create his unique style.
In January, he kicked off the new year by painting Constance and Denim on the day they wed.
Video of the artist in action – which he gave New Idea permission to share – shows him working on his masterpiece as the big day happens around him.
He finished the piece – which depicts mummy blogger Constance and Denim in their distinctive wedding outfits – in his studio with oil paints.
‘I couldn’t of asked for a better couple to paint than Constance Hall and Denim,’ Jacob wrote on his Facebook page.
‘I loved being apart of their wedding day and watching this beautiful kick-ass couple get married.
‘Even better that I could partner up with my wife Ange from Rolling Stills to help capture the moment. I can’t wait to frame and deliver this little beauty!’
Constance was certainly enamoured by the distinctive artwork.
‘Shakey Jakey is a friend and one of the best artists I know,’ she shared on her Facebook page.
‘He calls himself Shakey because he has the shakes, it’s noticable when you sit with him and he’s really comfortable talking about it, he told me that the minute he not only embraced it but made it a focal point of what he does and who he is everything lifted.
‘I think it give his work this unique beauty.
‘I told him that I related with my anxiety, the minute I accepted that it was part of who I was, took pride in it, saw the humour in it and it became part of me instead of against me.
‘Sometimes embracing the tough sh*t completely disempowers it.
‘Shakey came to our wedding and did a live painting, it kind of stole the show,’ she concluded.
