A Sydney hairdresser embarrassed a woman after she was $15 short for a blow dry when she accidentally left her purse at home.
Venting her frustration on Facebook, Kerrie Davies said the Mount Druitt salon manager refused to let her leave the store.
‘Went to have my hair blow dried today and when I got to the counter to pay the $30 I discovered I’d left my wallet in my other bag!,’ Davies wrote in a review on Facebook according to the Daily Mail.
‘I had $15 tucked in a zipper of my bag but no wallet so no cards or cash. Mortified, I explain the situation. Hairdresser tells me I have to get someone to bring the $15 and I’m not to leave the store.’
‘I explain that I have our car so I can’t get Greg (husband) to bring it to me. Can I leave my bag, phone and race home and get it? “No.” (staff reply)’
‘Since I have my phone can I transfer it to you? “No.” (staff reply).
When a security guard arrived, Davies said he looked at the manager like ‘she had three heads, reaching into his wallet and pulls out $15’, telling her to drop it back to the concierge when she can.
Davies finished her post, which has been shared over 16,000 times, thanking the salon for ‘going out of your way to make an unfortunate mistake as embarrassing as hell.’
The owner of the chain has since apologised, promising to implement customer service training.
