Fitness guru Michelle Bridges has finally opened up about her controversial absence from the upcoming reboot of The Biggest Loser, after ten years working on the onetime hit show.
The radical freshen up of the reality franchise also includes the departure of Michelle’s partner Steve ‘The Commando’ Willis, and follows rumours they were let go following a desire by producers to spice up the recently poorly-rated show, which has been slammed for seeming stale, overly familiar and predictable. The official line from the pair is that they decided to ‘opt out’.
‘It was a big part of our lives,’ Michelle, 45, admitted to the Today show of the professional split. ’10 years is a really long time and I’m really proud of the work that I did.’
Michelle says she is now anticipating lots of ‘new exciting projects and a new exciting chapter of my life, and for [Steve’s] as well.’
Adding fuel to perceptions that the departure may not have been Michelle and Commando’s first choice, the hunky trainer recently confessed he hadn’t been re-signed by the show, before the news of changes to the program were officially confirmed.
