Jennifer Lopez looked ravishing as she posed for photographers on the red carpet at the 2019 Academy Awards – AKA The Oscars. The 49-year-old was wearing a metallic gown by designer Tom Ford that fitted her like a second skin. Her hair was retro glamour, her makeup flawless.
She turned this way and that, cameras flashing and fans screaming her name. The scene was 100 per cent Hollywood, but just hours earlier Jennifer looked completely different. Back then she was at home, makeup free, her bare skin gleaming and her golden hair dripping wet.
The mother of two has shared a clip of herself to her Instagram account, revealing how much effort it takes to go from shower fresh to red-carpet perfection. Turns out that J-Lo has a team of hair and makeup professionals helping her to create her major event looks – and they employ a swag of handy beauty tips and tricks.
One of those tricks is to apply lip liner outside the natural lip line making J-Lo’s perfect pout appear more full and sexy.
It’s a technique that reality star Kylie Jenner is known for and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury also employs.
The video shows J-Lo’s nails being buffed and her hair blown out with a Dyson blow dryer. One of the team members remarks that ‘When I think of the Oscars I think J-Lo’ which makes the star laugh with delight.
She sips on a drink and dances in front of the camera and grins while holding an earring up to her face.
Makeup artists continue to work on her, heavily contouring her nose and jawline.
J-Lo’s eyes are smoky with rich chocolate shadow and lined with black Kohl. The actress then declares herself to be ‘Modern with a touch of old Hollywood’. ‘So J-Lo’ a team member can be heard to say in the background.
Eventually when it appeared she was ready, Jennifer gave herself a last-minute once-over in the mirror.
She twisted and turned and decided she was good to go. She and partner Alex Rodriguez, who was dressed in a white tux, also designed by Tom Ford, then slipped into a waiting limousine and headed off to the event.
When she arrived the crowds (and the paparazzi) went mad. And rightly so. J-Lo is a legitimate star plus she was astonishingly beautiful.
