Suri Cruise is growing up! Not just in her appearance, but her tastes as well!
The 13-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise was seen with some interesting reading material when she stepped out in New York with devoted mum Katie Holmes.

Suri reportedly hasn’t seen Tom in several years, allegedly because according to Scientology doctrine she and her mother are considered ‘Suppressive Persons’ for rejecting the Church.
But she’s becoming quite the young woman under mum’s guidance, with the dedicated junior reader photographed carrying Margaret Atwood’s classic novel, The Handmaid’s Tale.
The book, which has been made into a successful TV series, deals with life under a totalitarian religious cult, which rigidly controls the lives of women.
It’s heavy reading for a little girl, including themes of rape, torture and death, as women characters are pressed into unwilling sexual and reproductive servitude throughout the story.
But it seems that mum Katie is happy for her to read it, perhaps feeling she’s ready to learn about its heavy themes.
Meanwhile, Tom was earlier this week seen with son Connor, 24, after a string of rumours the young man has been moving away from Scientology.
A source close to the actor was at pains to press home that they are still on great terms, according to People magazine.
‘Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they’ve been members since they were kids,’ the person told the magazine, rosily emphasising the two ‘are completely dedicated Scientologists just like Tom.
‘Connor has been able to remain close with Tom because of Scientology,’ the source added.
Pressing home Connor’s dedication to the church, the source added he ‘is in a relationship with a fellow Scientologist who also grew up in the religion.’
Whether Suri and Connor will meet again remains to be seen. But in the meantime they are most definitely going their own ways, Connor with, and Suri without, their superstar father.
