Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his troubled brother Aaron have been left devastated by the shock passing of their father, Bob, who was just 65.
It seems the cause of death is a mystery to the boys, who are now struggling to cope with the horrible news.
‘I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night…’ Nick tweeted.
‘While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time.’
Aaron, who was famed as a kiddie star with songs like Crazy Little Party Girl, added, ‘My heart is completely shattered.’
‘I’m in shock and I loved my dad so much. #RIP DADDY I Love You.’
On Instagram, he further detailed his anguish, writing, ‘We are so hurt we lost you poppa way too soon. You were never human to me, you were always my real life super hero.’
The family has a history of tragedy, with Nick and Aaron losing their sister Leslie in 2012 at just 25, as the result of an overdose.
