He wasn’t shy about being excited to potentially become a Dad, and now the 41-year-old British comedian can relish the opportunity with the news he and girlfriend of six months, Laura Gallacher are expecting.
The funny man – who previously shared a tumultuous relationship with pop singer Katy Perry – is reported to have made the announcement whilst on stage at the Nottingham Playhouse venue in the UK at the weekend.
UK publication, The Mirror, spoke with a fan from the show who confirmed Brand didn’t mention the baby’s gender.
Brand told the Evening Standard previously, “I feel lit up by the idea [of becoming a father]. I’m very excited about becoming a dad and I’m preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want.”
Brand and Gallacher have been living together in what is an odd arrangement for the former party boy; a quiet country lifestyle, for the past six months.
He is reported to have indefinitely turned his back on his former party lifestyle and opted for a domestic one on a property with livestock and a quiet existence.
“It is very calm. I look at the chickens, they hatch some eggs. Basically I’m like a village idiot — just looking at livestock. I’m so much happier over the course of the day to see one or two people and a few chickens, that’s a good way of living,” he told the Evening Standard.
There’s yet to be word on when the baby is due.
